Ante- and Post-Natal Pilates

After delivery, post natal pilates classes can be commenced 4 to 6 weeks after the delivery or 8 to 12 weeks after a Ceasarian section. They are an excellent opportunity to spend a little time on yourself and will help you to get back into shape by restoring strength, tone and posture . Here, the pilates repertoire of exercises are aimed at:-
  • Correctly rehabilitating abdominal and pelvic floor muscles.
  • Improving overall strength and stability.
  • Returning posture back to normal.
  • Relaxation and stress management.
  • Socialising with other mothers.

This will help you to:-

  • Speed up the recovery time following the delivery especially at restoring abdominal tone and reducing the presence of any stress induced incontinence.
  • Manage any shoulder, back and neck problems.
  • Improve your overall fitness levels to cope with looking after your new beautiful baby such as repetitive lifting, breast/ bottle feeding and car seats.
  • Improve psychological well being by reducing anxiety and depression.
  • Have a better body image.

To apply for either the ante-natal or post-natal class, you need to:

  1. Contact us! This is a brand new course, and we are going to start on Friday mornings 10.00am.
  2. Have GP approval
  3. Complete a health questionnaire and application form
